Red Man Audio is Melbourne based audio engineer and sound designer, Tom Harman.

Having graduated from RMIT in 2018 completing 3 degrees in sound production and sound design, I have continued to hone my craft with over 6 years experience working in the field as a freelancer.

Drawing inspiration from the engineers behind some of his favourite work like Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros), Shawn Everett (Brittany Howard) and Sylvia Massey, I’ve learned that the texture of sound in music or film is just as important as the musical notes chosen.

Some of my notable credits include co-lead engineering for the 50-piece Chao Feng Chinese Orchestra  and recording Ray Dimakarri Dixon’s standout album ‘Stand Strong Mudburra Man’ which went to be nominated for Album of the Year at the 2020 National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMA’s).

With an ingrained passion for sound design, I have developed a unique approach to production  that allows me to work across genres and infuse every project with colour and vibrancy.
